Day 40-44 Mallorca
Today we flew from Madrid to Mallorca, a short one and a half hours. If you ever fly into Mallorca try to get seats A, B or C, the left side when seated in the plane as they have the view of the island on approach.
Cala Major was just the perfect location for Nixe Palace our ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel.
Room 720, fantastic view from the balcony. This was very hard to take but we tried hard to enjoy it!!!
We did manage to tear ourselves away from the view and explored Palma, the capital, which is only a short 15 minute, number 3 bus ride away.
The city itself is a lovely city with beautiful buildings and I did manage to buy the grandkids a few pressies. The bus ride was an interesting trip passing the Port of Palma and many poorer suburbs with very rundown buildings. The diversity of living conditions is very visible on the island.
We also took ourselves off to Illetas Beach, another very popular spot on the island, which was a ten minute cab ride away. This beach also has ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotels and is super busy. First impressions are a jaw dropping OMG is there a spot left to sit, let alone put a towel down to lie on. Towels and people created a carpet over the sand. Not my cup of tea but if you wanted a holiday where you wanted to feel part of the upper class, a place to be seen, then this is where you need to be on the island. Cala Major sooooooo much better.
Sunday was very special with a lunch by the seaside in the hotel's A Popa Restaurant. Beautiful spot to indulge oneself with scrumptious seafood. Breakfast spot, gorgeous views and the food was excellent. Lots of gym visits needed on return. ( pic from Internet as I didn't take camera to brekkie, I do have limits as a tourist)
Serenaded over breakfast one day by a Jye lookalike on the saxophone, one of my favourite instruments.
Internet pic taken from the water. This must have been taken late at night as there were often people swimming very late into the evening, up to midnight at times. They don't seem to worry about sharks here.

Crickey ! Western Cres is going to be a little ........dull 😂😂😂
