Day 32- Malaga to Granada

Drive from Malaga to Granada was again a challenge, travelling from one old town centre to another. They a are beautiful towns but finding where you need to go and then getting there is the challenge.
The freeway in between is generally a good road but can at times be very windy, following the sides of the mountains instead of cutting through them.
Every inch of the land on this trip is covered by olive trees, sometimes you can't see the homes as the trees are planted right up to the front door.
The freeways are lined by hundreds upon hundreds of Oleanders of many colours.
One thing you have to be careful on when coming into the centre of older towns are the restricted traffic roads. Lucky Mez spotted the no go road by looking at a sign all in Spanish and noticing the camera symbol as the gps was sending us right into trouble. If we had driven down the road the police would have swooped on us. We actually saw a car being pulled up for just this reason and there were 3 police cars surrounding him.
Hotel Navis was again in a fantastic location right in the centre of the city, surrounded by streets of restaurants.
Lunch not quite in full swing as it is only 11am.

Another thing you have to be aware of when travelling by car is parking. There is no room to park at the hotel so you need to park in the very few parking stations, which are rather expensive.
Off to explore the town.

  1. I'm thinking the Spanish police radio ahead to their comrades to tell them you're on your way.
