Day 21 - Lisbon to Albufeira

Left hotel in Lisbon and picked up our first car of the trip. Lisbon is a city of one way streets or no go streets, so tackling the Lisbon traffic and road system as well as driving on the opposite site of the road with a MANUEL car was going to be a daunting task. Only had to make one illegal middle of the road U turn, with a police man just near by, to get back to the right direction. Even TomTom was lost at one time. Only got biped once not bad at all.

Got to the freeway after kangarooing across a major bridge with an accident to divert around and all good. Mez driving between 110 And 140 and we were passed like we were standing still in a 120 speed zone.

Arrived in Albufeira about 2 pm and finally hooked up with Vanda who owns the Airbnb that we had booked last year. Thank heavens we booked early as this is such a busy and beautiful place.

   OMG what a spot. This is the view from the balcony of the newly renovated apartment that we hired for a lot less than the other accommodation around here. Just spectacular. 

     View from the very comfortable low chairs on the balcony. I could stay here for a while. Apartment is just a shot stroll to the beach in Old Town, much better area than the touristy nightlife spots just around the corner. Staying here you would not know what lies literally around the corner, a little bit like Cavill Ave Surfers.

   Few drinks at Merlin Bar right on the corner of the street where we are staying as Andre the barman was very helpful in helping us find the right spot to meet Vanda( not that we needed an excuse for a drink after the road trip).

    Dinner spot just a two minute walk away looking over the ocean. Hot here so lots of beach goers still in the water after 8.30 at night.
