Day 17 - 13th June Porto to Lisbon

Off to Lisbon and another train trip. Had great seats for the first 20 minutes no one opposite us as we had seats in the middle of the carriage. When booking a train seat make sure you are going in the direction of travel( that's a me thing I don't like to travel backwards in a train) and try not to get the middle seat as this is the only one where you are directly facing two other passengers, every other seat you are facing the back of the people in front. I normally would not mind this but after 20 mins of travel a family with a young child of about 18 months took the seats opposite us. Being a grandmother I know how difficult it is to contain a small child for a few hours( near impossible). She was very cute but had an ear piercing scream that the parents thought was very funny but it just wasn't. This screaming went on for the next two hours. Luck of the draw I guess.
Arrived in Lisbon to find our hotel, Hotel Borges, is in a great location the hub of many things. Room is large and has three small balconies looking over festivities below.
View one way from one of the front balconies. ( not a good look)
View from the other way right near a church. This street is normally teeming with people.
   Side view.
Heaps of restaurants and shops everywhere.
Straight outside the hotel you are spoilt for choice. Mez in pink on the balcony.
Settled in and did a bit of wandering and had a good tapas meal for dinner.
Lisbon looks good.
